Victorinox GAK 108 mm

Ce couteau Victorinox est comme un OVNI dans le monde de Victorinox.

C'est le premier modèle dont les plaquettes sont en nylon et pas en celidor et tous les outils s'ouvrent dans la même direction.

Cela s'explique par le fait que ce n'est pas un design Victorinox, mais une réponse à un cahier des charge de la Bundeswehr.

Fabriqué par Victorinox de 1976 à 1986, la production à été reprise par Adler de 1986 à 1997.

S'agissant d'un contrat militaire, d'autres entreprise ont également fabriqué ce couteau. Notamment Aitor, ICAR, Adler)

Il s'agit ici du premier modèle sans grattoir à allumettes sur le côté de la scie

This Victorinox knife is like a UFO in the world of Victorinox.  

It's the first model with nylon scales instead of cellidor, and all the tools open in the same direction.  

This is because it’s not a Victorinox design, but a response to a specs sheet from the Bundeswehr. Made by Victorinox from 1976 to 1986, production was then taken over by Adler from 1986 to 1997. Since it was a military contract, other companies also made this knife, including Aitor, ICAR, and Adler.  

This is the first model without a matchstick scraper on the side of the saw.

La gamme 108mm de Victorinox n'est plus produite depuis longtemps et les modèles originaux (que ce soit le GAK ou les versions "civiles") sont très recherchées et parfois pour des prix élevés.

Cependant, certaines sociétés spécialisées dans fabrication de répliques d'articles militaires (Mil-Tec ou MFH) ont repris la fabrication de copies conformes il y à quelques années. Mais j'y reviendrai plus tard
